As we approach the cold and flu season and Kentucky Covid cases continue to evolve in new ways, it’s important to make sure your security technology is aligned with the times. One way to do that is with thermal camera systems, which are security cameras that can accurately read the body temperatures of everyone onsite. Here are some things to know about the thermal camera systems we install throughout Kentucky.
They are HIPAA compliant.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a regulation that requires strict compliance, even in the post-Covid era. Because our thermal camera systems can detect the temperatures of patrons on your floor without tying the temperature reads to any personally identifying information, they are fully HIPAA compliant.
They move with your occupants.
Even as your building occupants move around the room, your thermal camera system can read each person’s body temperature. There’s no need to worry about a fever being detected in the wrong person, because each temperature “follows” the person it’s connected to.
If you need to ask someone to leave because of a fever detection, you can be confident that the system has shown you the right person.
They discern people from animals.
There are major differences in the body temperatures of animals and humans. A normal dog body temperature can range from 101° to 102.5° Fahrenheit; this is much higher than the normal body temperature range for humans of 97.6° to 99.6° Fahrenheit. Fortunately, there’s no need to worry that our thermal camera systems could give you a fever detection on a dog rather than a human. The cameras are equipped with built-in AI that filters out the temperatures of any animals who may be onsite.
The worst of Covid is behind us, but it’s still important to keep our businesses infection-free. Our thermal camera systems can help Kentucky businesses do this; call Modern Systems Inc. to learn more.
